Healthy and Easy Smoothie Recipes

Healthy and Easy Smoothie Recipes

Feel Magnificent. Look Magnificent. Be Magnificent.

In just one simple to make and delicious to consume smoothie you can provide your body with a massive influx of vitamins and nutrients that often otherwise go forgotten throughout the day.

Smoothies, when the correct ingredients are utilized, allow you to combine a massive amount of fruits and an array of vegetables that are a keystone ingredient to our health, energy levels, immunity, and overall longevity. Quick to make and easy to travel with, a great option for a morning commute breakfast, smoothies can become a ritual that will brighten the rest of your days for good.

To make smoothies, especially green smoothies, it can be a tricky challenge to navigate the balance of ingredients to make for a healthy yet yummy experience. But trust me now that there are so many ways to tastefully blend the leafy greens like kale and spinach, or a creamy avocado (and yes, avocados really do make for a smooth cream like texture in smoothies) with the more lustful flavors of sweet fruits.

At Farm Brand, we love being the purveyors of accessible information that can help you to live a happy and healthy lifestyle, so we wanted to curate five easy smoothies recipes that do not take a million ingredients and are packed with the good stuff that keeps you doing the things in life you love the most.

“A Date Night”

Healthy and easy smoothie recipes

For our first smoothie recipe, let's get into a beauty boosting, sweet and savory smoothie that features the lovely taste of dates and pumpkin as the stars of the show combined with other beauty enhancing ingredients to create a rather subtle nutty tone and tasty drink. This smoothie is great for helping to clear skin and give you a nice glow, and overall provides you with a great source of vitamin K, vitamin C, vitamin B6, calcium, and so much more. Your body will flourish in the health benefits as you soak up the vast range of nutrients provided by this green smoothie.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup uncooked spinach
  • 1 small bunch of turnip greens (Start small and adjust to taste)
  • 4 Pitted Dates (Can also be replaced with figs, however dates are much sweeter)
  • 2 Tbsp Pureed Pumpkin (Organic canned pumpkin puree works great)
  • ½ Cup Frozen Grapes
  • 1 Tbsp Flax Seeds
  • 1 Tsp Chia Seeds
  • 1 Cup Coconut or Almond Milk
  • 1 Tbsp Honey
  • ¼ Cup Water to Start
  • 1 Big Handful of Ice

To make this smoothie, simply wash all of the ingredients and combine them into a blender with a big handful of ice. Blend until smooth and creamy. Depending on your preference of consistency, continue adding ice and water until it reaches your liking.

Optional additions:

This smoothie will taste great with 1 scoop of green collagen powder. Collagen is known to reduce wrinkles and improve overall skin health and is an excellent source of protein that will blend well and taste great in this smoothie recipe.

Also feel free to add some shredded coconut if you want to further enhance the nutty taste of the easy to make green smoothie.

“Tropical Chocolate”

Tropical smoothie recipe

Everybody loves chocolate, but in my own personal opinion there is nothing better than when the flavors of chocolate are combined with a big and ripe banana. And then, to further instill a day dream of a morning on a far away Caribbean beach, add a little coconut undertone and you are ready to sunbathe until the sun goes down.

But not only does this smoothie taste absolutely amazing, it is a perfect way to give yourself a little serving of greens and nice hint of natural sugar to satisfy your cravings. Because although there are mentions of fruit, especially bananas, being high in sugar; it is important to note that this sugar IS indeed natural, and smoothies often help people to wean off of the processed and densely high sugar content that comes in nearly any other soda or juice.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Frozen Bananas
  • ¼ Cup Shredded Coconut
  • 1 Cup dry Spinach
  • 1 Tbsp Hemp Seeds (optional)
  • ½ Cup Vanilla Yogurt (Preferably organic)
  • 1 Cup Chocolate Almond or Coconut Milk
  • 1 Big Handful of Ice

To make this smoothie, simply wash all of the ingredients and combine them into a blender with a big handful of ice. Blend until smooth and creamy. Depending on your preference of consistency, continue adding ice and more chocolate nut milk until it reaches your liking.

Optional Additions:

Chocolate protein powder is a great addition to this healthy smoothie recipe. Not only will it further promote the chocolate taste, it will give you an extremely easy to consume and digest method to receive 20-30 grams (depending on the type of powder) of protein straight into your diet.

"Lean and Green"

Green Smoothie recipes

Some smoothies are just greener than others. And that simply means that you are getting a full intake of greens just by drinking a smoothie, and the best part of all is that these greens are uncooked which allows them to maintain the highest level of available vitamins and nutrients. For a smoothie that gives you the health benefits of spinach and collards blended in with a citrus experience and creamy mango that tastes fantastic, don't be afraid to give this one a shot. I can almost guarantee you will like it more than you first think!

Ingredients:

  • ½ Cup Spinach
  • 1 Cup Collard Greens (chopped)
  • 3 Basil Leaves
  • ½ Peeled Grapefruit
  • ½ Peeled Orange
  • 1 Peeled Kiwi
  • 1 Mango
  • 1 Big Handful of Ice
  • ½ Cup Water to start

To make this smoothie, simply wash all of the ingredients and combine them into a blender with a big handful of ice. Blend until smooth and creamy. Depending on your preference of consistency, continue adding ice and water until it reaches your liking.

"Peachy Keen"

Easy smoothie recipes

I mean come on, who doesn't love the summery sweetness of a ripe peach, juicy and full of antioxidants and vitamin C. This one tastes so good that you can blend in a cup of spinach and your kids would still drink it for breakfast, but only if you don't take the whole thing down first! A delicious and extremely easy to make smoothie with not many ingredients, just the way we like it.

 Ingredients:

  • 2 Pitted Peaches (or 1-1 ½ Cup frozen peach slices)
  • 1 Pitted and Skinned Mango (or 1 cup frozen mango slices)
  • ½ Cup Vanilla or Peach Yogurt (dairy or plant based)
  • 1 Cup uncooked spinach
  • 1 Big handful of Ice
  • ¼ Cup Water to Start

To make this smoothie, simply wash all of the ingredients and combine them into a blender with a big handful of ice. Blend until smooth and creamy. Depending on your preference of consistency, continue adding ice and water until it reaches your liking.

Optional Additions:

To give this easy smoothie an extra boost of muscle building prowess, feel free to add unflavored or vanilla protein powder of your choice.

"Blueberry Basil With a Shot"

Easy smoothies

And by a shot, we don't mean alcohol! Well, I guess that part is up to you. But for this extremely healthy smoothie we are going to utilize the benefits of apple cider vinegar in a way that actually makes it taste good; because personally, I gag every time I take a shot of that stuff, but I do it anyways because it is so dang good for you! So let's get into a rich and elegantly purple smoothie that creates a unique taste experience through the combination of blueberry and basil.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups Frozen Blueberries
  • 2 Pitted Plums
  • 3-4 Basil Leaves
  • 1 Tbsp/shot Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 Big Handful of Ice
  • ½ Cup water to Start

To make this smoothie, simply wash all of the ingredients and combine them into a blender with a big handful of ice. Blend until smooth and creamy. Depending on your preference of consistency, continue adding ice and water until it reaches your liking.
